Temp ban for bad name - Page 2 - Guild Wars Forums

A lot of you seem to be mistaken at where my frustration is. I don't give a damn about my character being renamed because I used the horrible ass word. I am annoyed that this being my first offence after I don't know, 5 years of playtime that I would at least be given the chance to either rename or delete the character and be done with it. A 3 day temp ban is nothing more than an annoying inconvenience especially in the middle of a weekend.

I also love the hypocrisy on NCSofts part, feel free to brutally slay other people in any number of ways, but don't use nasty evil words related to human anatomy. That is just sick and deserves a ban.

I wasnt trying to bypass the filter or be sneaky, I wrote arseface butttongue. I ask myself why allow two words like arse and butt if they are bannable as references to anatomy when they only have one use. Its bull.

It doesn't matter if this is your first time or not. They aren't going to go easy on you because you've been a good soldier for 5 years.

When you signed up to play the game, you agreed to the rules. You broke those rules, you have to pay the consequence. There is no way around it. Next time, read the rules and you won't have to worry about this kind of thing.

Yes his name was childish and did deserve a ban, a lot of names don't due to content that is already in the game.

There are a few quotes on factions about "Making in pants", but guaranteed if you made a name like "I made in pants" you would get banned, which is what OP is trying to say.

But no, if you can get it passed word filter does not mean it is acceptable, if I'm not mistaken the letter "G" stand-alone can not be spelled due to names like "G Unit", which makes some names even impossible.

Posts like the one above don't have much to contribute here.
